The Lord spoke this to me today!
Full transparency, I haven’t been able to go to church in a long time, but I know what my short comings were.
When I lived in Kentucky, I walked the streets close to my home and stopped where ever the Lord led me to. When I left there to move back to Ohio, 4 new couples and their families started going to the Church of God there in Radcliff. I was young in the Lord. I wasn’t well versed in Spiritual Warfare, and I made mistakes. The churches didn’t teach you how to be a witness at that time, and honestly I haven’t seen any recently. Were we meant to sing, preach and teach each other only! Did He mean for the Gospel to be shut up within four walls?
Watching Muslims in the streets made me wonder, where are the Christians? Jehovah’s Witnesses also go door to door until they find someone to listen to them. Did we decide to preach and testify only to each other?
Jesus said: Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
I’m old now, with a few health issues and its hard for me to walk to places id love to take Jesus to. Do you know of places that need Jesus? Do you know when you go witness to the Lost, you’re taking Jesus to them?
Now, when I remember how I would leave my visiting family while I went to church I’m sad. Oh how I wish I had said, that’s fine, we’ll have church right here! I wish I had stayed there and worshiped the Lord in their presence – they needed it so much more than the folks at church. Oh how I wish I could impress on people the importance of taking Jesus to those who don’t know Him. How arrogant I must have seemed? I wonder what Paul or Peter would have done? Its no wonder we don’t have the same power! How can we see great works when our prayer lines are repeaters – you pray for someone and someone else prays for you? Over and over again! There are people outside the doors! Are there folks you want to see saved? Go into all the world…..they may never come to the church building
Jesus said
Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
